On a steady path to expand its trade fair portfolio in China:
Messe Düsseldorf boosts its development of new business
Heiko M. Stutzinger to become Deputy General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Ltd.
Axel Bartkus, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. and General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Ltd., gets an addition to his team. Dipl.-Kfm. Heiko M. Stutzinger (40), Head of Renewable Energy Fairs in the Department for Corporate Development of the trade fair corporation will join him on 15 March 2015 and take the position of Deputy General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Ltd.. With this move, Messe Düsseldorf Group also emphasizes the human resource aspect of its new business development in China, which has become a particular focus with Axel Bartkus assuming responsibility for the business.
“Since August 2012, the portfolio of Messe Düsseldorf in China has been on a growth track“, reports Hans Werner Reinhard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd.. “Over the past three years, we have seen the first events of the All in Caravaning, ProWine China, and Energy Storage China fairs. In 2015 alone, we will add four new trade fair formats.“ From 13 to 15 May 2015, the C-Star retail fair will open its doors, and from 17 to 20 November - at the same time as the Chinapharm fair - the first events of PacPro Asia, FoodPex and BulkPex will be organised. Messe Düsseldorf is clearly on track to expand the subjects of the leading international trade fairs it organises at its home base – the CARAVAN SALON, ProWein, Energy Storage Europe, EuroShop, interpack fairs – by hosting events in the Chinese market and thus offers its international customers ideal platforms in one of the most dynamic markets worldwide.
Next to Russia, the Chinese business is increasingly significant for Messe Düsseldorf. This will now be reflected in its human resources, as Mr. Reinhard explains. Furthermore, Messe Düsseldorf will leverage its stronger team to break new ground. With the Asian Academy of Sport & Fitness Professionals, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Ltd. will organise the IFIT fitness trade fair in Beijing from 20 to 22 June 2015. With China News Service and Macao News, Macao’s leading daily paper, as its partners, Messe Düsseldorf has recently signed an agreement in principle to jointly explore the options of organising an international media conference and trade fair, which will go by the name of Global Media Macao.
Heiko M. Stutzinger, a known expert for the development of new business areas, will reinforce the Chinese team of Messe Düsseldorf. From the start of his career with Messe Düsseldorf, Mr. Stutzinger has been in charge of developing the Energy Storage product family, which has grown to become the leading series of events on energy storage systems in just three years. The “World of Energy Storage” now organises five trade fairs and conferences on three continents and, with its conferences in the United States of America, China, Germany/Europe, India and Japan, it covers the five most important renewable energy markets worldwide. These regions generate almost 70% of all renewable energy produced worldwide.
Until 2014, more than 5,500 leading representatives of more than 2,500 organisations have chosen the “World of Energy Storage” fair as their marketplace. In excess of 1,800 experts from 48 nations attended the Energy Storage Europe conferences and trade fair in Düsseldorf over three days in March 2015 – more than twice as many as in the previous year.
Mr. Reinhard said: “With the support of the five leading international specialist organisations, the conferences and trade fairs in the “World of Energy Storage” series offer unique opportunities for getting in touch with important political decision-makers, regulators, network managers, craftsmen and installers as well as the world’s largest utilities.” Thanks to this interaction, stakeholders and exhibitors enjoy unparalleled access to market-makers and thus an opportunity to forge sustainable and successful relations and partnerships.
Heiko M. Stutzinger‘s successor as manager of the New Business Development section will be Bastian Mingers (31), who has been employed with Messe Düsseldorf as Senior Project Manager until now.
