Medical Innovation Circle ++ Newly Launched in Suzhou ++ Top Exchange Platform for Translational Medicine ++

In recent years, there has been an intensive introduction of regulations and policies by the central government and regulatory authorities, supporting innovation in the medical device industry. Notably, the recently held National Science and Technology Innovation Conference has inspired great enthusiasm for innovation among local enterprises. Alongside the further implementation of national scientific achievements transformation policies as well as classified diagnosis and other medical reform measures, more attention will be paid to translational medicine and industrial collaboration.

In this context, Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has partnered with China Strategic Alliance of Medical Devices Innovation (CSAMDI), Jiangsu Service Center for Medical Device Innovation, and innoMD to jointly establish the “Medical Innovation Circle”, whose establishment meeting & first committee meeting was successfully held in Suzhou Qingshan Hotel on July 16, 2016. Jiang Feng, President of the CSAMDI and Vice President of the CAMDI, Axel Bartkus, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Horst Giesen, Global Portfolio Director Health and Medical Technologies and Director of MEDICA of Messe Duesseldorf GmbH, attended and addressed the meeting.

As an exchange platform for translational medicine, Medical Innovation Circle aims to facilitate collaboration between clinical experts and medical device businesses, promote further development of translational medicine, increase market share of Made-in-China innovative medical devices, and support the full implementation of a clinical evaluation and improvement mechanism for domestic innovative medical devices, to eventually boost the overall innovation capability of domestic medical devices. In addition, Medical Innovation Circle will regularly organize a rich variety of networking activities to bring together clinical researchers, heads of purchasing departments, medical device business CEOs, and equity investors.
