Energy Storage China 2017 (ESC) opens today (March 29th) in China International Exhibition Center in Beijing, organized by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai)Co., Ltd. and supported by China Strategic Alliance of Smart Energy Industrial Technology Innovation.
China's energy storage market grew quickly in 2016.The energy storage in emerging markets is forecasted to grow at a rate of 40% in the next five years, increasing from the current 2GW to 80GW according to “The Development Trends and Opportunities of the Energy Storage in Emerging Markets” released recently by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 2017. To our delight, China sees the importance of energy storage and has adjusted policies and funding in order to support the movement. Currently, energy storage has been listed in the top 100 projects in the “13th Five-Year Plan” and officially included in the national development plan for the first time. Energy storage, electric vehicles and EV Cell technologies have risen to the status of “national strategy” in the “13th Five-Year Plan”, indicating a plan to combine energy storage with automobile production and energy-saving systems and to build a new model of sustainable development. Experts predict that the market growth of China’s energy storage industry will be more than RMB¥50 billion in the next five years with unlimited prospects.
ESC is the most authoritative industry conference and exhibition in China’s energy storage industry. It also offers an international platform for industry information and professional and technical knowledge exchanges. The conference plays an important role in promoting the development of high-efficiency and reliable energy system in China and is the weathervane of China’s energy storage industry. ESC 2017 collaborates with China International Clean Energy Expo & China Clean Power Summit (CEEC) to build a professional and international platform with over 30,000 sqm of exhibition space, attracting more than 500 leading domestic and foreign enterprises within the industry including TÜV Rheinland Group Greater China, ESSO, GCCAlliance Inc., GK, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Xuji Group, NARI Group, CLOU, Three Gorges Group, RENON, Trina Solar, KSTAR, AEROSPACE POWER, SIEMENS, GE, Titan, Nengrui, MIDWEST, Yong Lian, Growatt, SAJ, GoodWe, LONTEN, Beijing Zenith Technologies etc.
ESC 2017 is expected to attract more than 30,000 professional visitors, industry experts, staff from the energy department and other corporate executives motivated by the knowledge exchange aspects of clean energy development and the energy storage industry chain in China.
ESC2017 – themed “ The Next-Generation Energy System” will feature 7 panel sessions at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Beijing on March 30th-31st, 2017 resulting in a natural gathering of the international energy storage industry through a perfect combination of “exhibition” and “conference”. Pivotal topics of the 7sessions are “Energy Storage in the Retail Electricity and Distribution Reform”, “Energy Storage Global Markets Update”, “Energy Storage and EV”, “Innovation and Technologies in Energy Storage”, “Business Models, Finance and Banking”, “Energy Storage Applications in Micro-grids”, “Energy Storage System and PV Micro-grid / Thermo Solar Power/ Wind Energy Utilization”. More than 120 domestic and international speakers were invited to discuss crucial topics in order to create a global leading energy communication platform!
During the opening ceremony, a welcome speech will be given by Mr. Shi Dinghuan, former counselor of the State Council & Chairman of Chinese Renewable Energy Society, and Mr. Wang Zhongmin, President of China Strategic Alliance of Smart Energy Industrial Technology Innovation. The summit has also invited Mr. Urban Windelen, Executive Director of BVES German Energy Storage Association (BVES); Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, Executive Director, India Energy Storage Alliance & President, Customized Energy Solutions (India); Mr. Francesco Gattiglio, EU Affairs Officer, Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers (EUROBAT) to share information on China energy strategy and energy storage development, market situations and opportunities of international energy storage to the participants respectively.
The organizer also invited Dr. Andreas Hauer, Head of Department, ZAE Bayern, Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research, Dept. Energy Storage; Mr. Li Weichun, General Manager, TÜV Rheinland Group Greater China; Mr. Wu Jiamao, General Manager, Sungrow - Samsung SDI Energy Storage Power Supply Co., Ltd.; Mr. Gao Hu, Director, Center for Energy Economy, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC); Dr. Christoph Flink, Global Coordinator, Energy Storage Initiative, VDE Renewables GmbH. They will share situations and business opportunities of the industrial development of the world energy storage to the participants on Germany's energy storage policy, market and technology, energy storage-driven smart green energy, development trend of the electrochemical energy storage system, China energy storage policy and market prospects and energy storage security investment.
By utilizing the international network of Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai Co., Ltd., ESC has become an industry driving force and key event in the energy storage industry, having visibility in Europe, North America, India, China and Japan, accounting for 70% of new energy generation market globally. These events are also supported by institutions and associations of the global energy storage industry. This exhibition has gained support from the Indian Pavilion of India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), German Pavilion of the German Energy Storage Association and International Experts Visiting Group. Global energy policy makers, industry experts, association leaders, and well-known business decision-makers can take advantage of this opportunity to meet face to face.
ESC is set to shatter the boundaries of the industry to further develop into a grand event for the energy storage trade and its global vision.
