China Medical Innovation Forum 2017 Successfully Concluded
On June 11th, the China Medical Innovation Forum, hosted by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and China Service Alliance of Medical Device Innovation, concluded successfully in Shangri-la Hotel, Suzhou after two days of intensive learning, networking and deal-making.
Driven by technological progress and a growing emphasis on health care, China’s medical device market sales experienced dramatic growth from RMB 17.9 billion in 2001 to RMB 308 billion in 2015, representing a 20% annual growth rate (Source: China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association). China’s government policies for innovation strongly support enterprises to enhance R&D and production capacity for premium products. The current trend reveals huge potential for market demand, improved supervision and management, innovation-driven development and an increasing degree of industrial concentration, all of which are beneficial to the healthy and rapid development of China’s medical device industry. Dr. JIANG Feng, President of China Strategic Alliance of Medical Device Innovation and Vice President of China Association for Medical Devices Industry explained: “The China Medical Innovation Forum embodies our wish to promote China's translational medicine and technology finance. Practice-oriented Speeches Attracted Record-breaking Number of Attendees
This year, the forum has grown to become a highly-anticipated industry highlight, attracting 47 elite experts and industry leaders as keynote speakers who covered trending topics including industrial policy, medical technological innovation, global market segmentation and access, innovative services, medical 3D technology, the Internet of Things, smart healthcare, etc.
Top speakers and hot topics also drew the attention of a large number of participants. In total, 1,268 visitors took part in the two-day forum.
In addition to keynote speeches, 12 innovation project roadshows from China, USA, Sweden and Belgium were staged on the afternoon of June 11th and covered topics of cancer diagnosis and treatment, rapid molecular diagnosis, sample concentration technology, medical care, rhinitis treatment, urinary incontinence therapy, and aneurysm and aortic dissection. The brilliant roadshows caught the attention and interest of many investment institutions, leading to a number of potential investment and cooperation opportunities.
New Exhibition Zone Generating Enthusiasm from Visitors
This year, the brand new enterprise exhibition zone presented an additional highlight to the forum, where more than 30 companies demonstrated their innovative technologies, products and services. Visitors flocked to the booths to consult on clinical trials, medical device product design, and registration among other subjects. The success of the enterprise exhibition area further proves that the forum has truly become the most advanced and all-inclusive service platform for industry exchange on translational medicine and innovation commercialization in China.
Major Show Enhancements Coming in 2018
Following industry and market demand closely and building upon the success of the previous two editions, the China Medical Innovation Forum will embark on a journey of significant enhancements in 2018. As an international supporter of the Forum, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH - organizer of the world’s largest medical trade fair MEDICA - has officially announced that the China Medical Innovation Forum will be held concurrently with Medical Fair China from 2018 onward as a member of the “World of MEDICA”. Messe Düsseldorf is committed to transferring MEDICA’s successful experience and expertise to China and integrating the latest expert perspectives, trade opportunities and market insights into the exhibition in order to help industry players expand business opportunities, open up new markets and ensure maximum benefits of exhibitors and visitors.
The Medical Fair China 2018 and the China Medical Innovation Forum 2018 will be held from 6-8 September 2018 in Suzhou International Expo Center, China. Medical Fair China 2018 is estimated to attract some 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors covering an exhibition area of 10,000 sqm.
