All in CARAVANING 2017 Ends on a High Note, Witnessing Booming Development of China’s RV and Camping Industries
All in CARAVANING 2017 concluded successfully at Beijing Exhibition Center on June 25, 2017
In late June, Beijing experienced heavy rainstorm and strong lightning rarely seen in this summer, casting a shadow on organizers of AIC. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm of the public on the new lifestyle of caravanning and camping brought a string of luck to AIC. During the three-day exhibition, Beijing Exhibition Center was not affected by the bad weather, instead benefitting from the fresh air after the rain. The exhibition welcomed 21,826 visitors, an increase of 25.7% year-on-year (17,369 last year). Both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas were continuously brimmed with an ardent trading atmosphere. Swift trading activities and negotiations continued till the last day of dismantling.
“All in CARAVANING is currently the most international and professional trade fair for caravans and motor homes in China. We are pleased to see that for three days, a large number of orders have been signed on site, and many valuable business connections have been established here. The hottest and latest industry information and trends were widely disseminated in the diverse events and conferences concurrently held during AIC. The visitors’ immense zeal shows that as a way of life, caravanning has gained even more popularity. We are fully confident in the future development of the industry.” Mr. Axel Bartkus, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. concluded.
Exhibitors enjoyed great success with better than expected results
The total exhibition space exceeded 33,000 square meters, with 650 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions. To attract more visitors, the exhibitors exhausted all efforts to organize a variety of novel and impressive new caravan launching ceremonies and performances. Those activities not only made the exhibition even more fascinating, but also attracted numerous visitors and generated endless business opportunities. Tags such as “Been sold” and “Has its owner” could be seen everywhere. The prototype caravans brought by many exhibitors were sold on the first day. The number of follow-up orders was gratifying. According to preliminary statistics on the day of dismantling, most RV brands obtained a significant quantity of orders, such as RV International, Dethleffs, Yutong, Spring RV, Tourist, I4WD, Longtree, FUJI, ZOEMO, Shunlv, Jinghang, Yaxing, Goldstar, KINGSWAY, Cloud, Bimobil, Deeson, COSMOS, FAMEIRUI, Jiangling, AILVTU, Livezone, LONCEN, HUABEIHUI, Sanxing and YunShang. The onsite trading volume exceeded 2000 vehicles.
“Details determine success or failure”. Today, both caravan manufacturers and individual consumers are increasingly concerned about the quality of caravan parts. The Caravan Parts Area of AIC also witnessed huge sales. Thanks to excellent raw materials, exquisite workmanship and sophisticated technology, the chassis and accessories on display won the favor of many visitors. Despite the outlying location, this year’s Caravan Parts Pavilion still attracted a continuous stream of visitors.
Before the exhibition closed on June 25, quite a few exhibitors had inquired about details and booth prices of AIC 2018, taking early initiative in booking.
Pragmatically serve the industry, promote efficient matchmaking between resources and markets
In addition to displaying products and technologies covering the whole RV industry chain, AIC 2017 also organized a series of trade matchmaking events and showcased new products, aiming to build a bridge of communication between suppliers and buyers, promote business matchmaking and project initiation, and achieve win-win results in the market. RV brands, including Hobby, Trigano Group, Chausson, and Bimobil, held dealer conferences for investment promotion; Truma, Vohringer, Thule, LAMILUX, Thetford, CGI, I4WD, Seaflo, Renogy and Fussion participated in European and American Caravan Parts and Accessories Trade Matchmaking + Showcase of China’s New Caravan Accessories 2017; in the newly-launched RV & campsite resource and capital matchmaking meeting titled C2C (CARAVANING TO CAMPING), representatives from local tourism committees as well as campground investors, planners and operators were specially invited to deliver powerful and persuasive speeches. They focused on the key campground projects and purchase intentions of Gansu, Fujian, Jiangxi and other places. In addition, speakers from WOWCAMP, RV International Campground College, JunQi RV and CTS also shared a number of successful cases in campground operations.
Well-regarded brands including LEHERO, KAMPA, MIY, Green World, and US GoSun showcased their products. Several signing ceremonies for cooperation were held on site.
Following the Belt and Road initiative, European caravan fans revisited the Silk Road and gathered at AIC
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. As an exhibition with half German origin, AIC has also taken this opportunity to promote exchanges and bilateral visits between Chinese and German caravan enthusiasts. Inspired by the Belt and Road initiative, MDS, organizer of AIC, specially invited the German company Seabrige to organize caravan fans to revisit the Silk Road.
Led by Mr. Kostya Abert, a master caravanning traveler from Germany, 40 European caravan fans departed from Düsseldorf on 18 April, 2017. They completed a 15,000-kilometer journey in 10 weeks before meeting Chinese caravan fans at the AIC venue. The cross-country caravan tour is considered “a bridge for Sino-German tourism and cultural exchange”.
On June 23 and 24, Mr. Kostya Abert gave a round of passionate and inspiring speeches at AIC, using multimedia to vividly depict the fantastic intercontinental caravan tour. His presentations were among the most popular of on-site events.
AIC Family Activities & Parent-Child Day received thumbs-up by disseminating caravan culture and sparking potential purchases
Jointly organized by partners Dreamaker, ReSchool, Cheng Ma and Carrera, the first AIC Family Activities & Parent-Child Day was a complete success. During the three-day exhibition, more than 2,000 families participated in the parent-child activities in the Caravan Culture Experience Area, including Children and Teenagers English Drama Party, Caravan Painting Contest, and Caravan Adventures on Dudu Island. Those activities imperceptibly popularized the caravanning culture in exciting ways, enabling families to gradually become repeat customers in the RV market.
Gorgeous “Oscar” award ceremony in the caravan industry held at the AIC exhibitor party
The exhibitor party was a highlight of AIC 2017. The extravagantly designed stage, exciting live music performances and a prestigious awards ceremony made this year’s party a true highlight not unlike the Academy Awards ceremony. The Outstanding Contribution Award of AIC 2017 was conferred to recognize industry professionals’ long-standing support for AIC. AIC AWARDS were officially announced, covering MOTOR HOME OF THE YEAR, CARAVAN OF THE YEAR and MOBILE HOME OF THE YEAR. Senior caravan expert Mr. Ge Minwei received the title of AIC 2017 Caravan Ambassador, a title which was duly deserved. On the morning of June 25, Mr. Ge participated in the “Story-telling Party of AIC Caravan Ambassadors” together with former ambassadors Mr. Zhang Zhiwu, Mr. Chen Hanbin from the DON’T U-TURN Team, and Mr. Gu Yunsong. The event received enthusiastic response from the caravan fans and visitors. The 40 European caravan fans also received the certificates of successful journey issued by the organizer. Voices from the exhibitors
Mr. Liao Hongbin, President of RV International Vehicles Trade & Marketing Co., Ltd. :
There are obviously more visitors coming to the exhibition this year than before. They have more knowledge of caravanning life and ask more professional questions. We have customers buying caravans everyday since the first day. Customers show great appetite for caravan and other outdoor products.
Mr. Liu Yujiao, Sales General Manager of Baoding Livezone Automobile Service Co., Ltd.:
The exhibition is held in Beijing, the hub of caravan markets in China. It is highly professional and well organized. Such a platform provides a unique opportunity to promote our brand, and to have in-depth communication with customers and peers. It’s marvelous to have such an opportunity once a year. This year, we met and communicated with many European customers, some of whom even would like to buy our caravans, and drive back to their country. We successfully established business relationships with them. All in CARAVANING serves as a bridge to promote Chinese caravan brands better in China and abroad.
Mr. Su Yanzhen, General Manager of Dethleffs China:
We attend AIC show every year. As a professional exhibition, AIC has made great contribution to the industry in the past years. AIC regards exhibitors as important partners, highly respects us and helps us solve problems. With the development of caravan and camping industry in China, an increasing number of companies will be organizing caravan exhibitions in the future, but I believe that well-established brands like Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai, which provides outstanding service to customers, will make AIC even more prosperous and competitive. Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai has greater influence compared to other exhibition companies, especially in the caravan sector. It boasts of outstanding management team and provides the exhibitors with best service. Thanks a lot to AIC for its great support to the industry!
Mr. Zhu Weidong, General Manager of SAIC MAXUS:

Mr. Yannick Vöhringer, Vöhringer GmbH
This is the fifth year we attended AIC show. I feel the organization and service from AIC are becoming more and more professional. The exhibition provided us a good platform to communicate with Chinese manufactures. I believe China will be a potential market for caravan business.
